Our client is a private equity business with significant investments in the speciality chemicals and materials space. Part of the growth plan is the desire to invest a further £100MM+ in suitable small EMEA based opportunites in the next 3-5 years. 

Job Description

We are looking for a Chair to steer future strategy and growth opportunities for one of their chemicals investments, based in the North UK. This company is involved with the manufacturer of a range of speciality polymers and additives products used for a variety of end use sectors. They are one of the market leaders in their core products

This individual will be on the board and also become an operating partner of the PE firm, whose additional role will be to seek and advise on potential acquisition opportunities in complementary and adjacent chemicals, polymers and related fields. 

Job Requirements

The ideal individual will possess the following:

1. High calibre chemicals sector executive with an excellent reputation and contact base in the industry and real credibility with partners and investors in an active transaction process. 

2. Strategic understanding of the key chemicals / polymers market areas in which our client operates as well as the industry more generally, and experience formulating winning strategies to expand a business.

3. Clear drive and restlessness to find, engage with and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities which might be complementary to the business in question and also for the PE firm as a whole in order to widen the investment base with synergistic businesses.

4. You must have been MD / CEO of a business before with experience managing the full P&L of the business and leading all aspects of strategy and operations.
